Bio

Coach Dan Mancuso has recently been hired back at Tampa Catholic High School to mentor the quarterbacks, bringing with him decades of coaching experience and a reputation for developing high-level offensive talent. Mancuso returns to Tampa Catholic after previously serving on staff from 2015–2018, where he coached both running backs and quarterbacks while contributing to offensive game planning and execution. His familiarity with the program and its standards makes him a valuable addition as he helps lead the next generation of Crusader quarterbacks. Prior to his return, Mancuso spent seven seasons (2018–2025) at Northside Christian School, working under multiple staffs as Quarterbacks Coach and Assistant Offensive Coordinator. During that time, he played a key role in shaping offensive systems and mentoring quarterbacks within a competitive program environment. Throughout his career, Mancuso has held numerous leadership roles, including Assistant Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, and Quarterbacks Coach at Admiral Farragut Academy, Northeast High School, Gaither High School, and Middleton High School. His experience spans building offenses, calling plays, and developing skill position players at a high level. Earlier in his career, he helped guide Jefferson High School to an undefeated season and state championship while serving as Tight Ends Coach and Assistant Offensive Coordinator. Mancuso’s coaching background also includes experience at the professional and semi-professional levels. He served as Running Backs Coach, Quarterbacks Coach, and Offensive Coordinator in the St. Petersburg Tides professional spring league, as well as with the St. Petersburg Sharks semi-pro team. He was also the Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator of the Tampa Bay Tempest women’s professional football team. From 1989 to 2006, Mancuso led St. Petersburg Catholic High School as Head Coach, becoming the winningest coach in program history while serving in multiple roles on both sides of the ball. His long tenure helped establish a strong foundation for the program. Mancuso has also contributed to player development on a national level, working on the summer camp staff at the University of Michigan, where he coached quarterbacks alongside top collegiate coaches. Over the course of his career, he has coached numerous players who have gone on to compete at the NFL and professional levels, including Jon Halapio, Ramik Wilson, Chris Davis, and others. His accomplishments include being named Time Warner Coach of the Year and earning “Coach of the Camp” honors at the Josh Freeman Camp. With a passion for developing quarterbacks and building dynamic offenses, Mancuso brings veteran leadership, experience, and a proven track record back to Tampa Catholic. Coach Mancuso is a graduate of Indiana State University, where he played fullback for the Sycamores.
